Jamboree on the Air, held together with Jamboree on the Internet as JOTA-JOTI, runs this weekend, October 16 to 18. World Scouting organizes it every year on the third full weekend of October, using ham radio to connect young people around the world. This year’s theme is “A Peaceful and Inclusive World.”

Want to help? Listen for Scout stations near the calling frequencies, like 14.290 and 7.190 MHz SSB or 147.540 MHz FM simplex, and always listen before you call. State QSO parties will crowd the bands, so 30, 17 and 12 meters are good contest-free spots. A few minutes on the air might spark a future ham.
