Well, all good things come to an end. Yesterday we packed up the cabin and hit the road back to Virginia.
We started the morning the same way we started most mornings this trip, with a stop at our usual local Starbucks. Got our coffee, and it was still dark out.

Back at the cabin, the sunrise around 6 AM was something else. Pink and purple across the sky, the lake all lit up, and the geese came flying in like they were telling us goodbye. Then it started to rain a little, and that was our cue.

One more look at the lake before we loaded up.
We packed the truck and headed home. About a six-hour trip. We had a wonderful time up here: family, good coffee, the lake, the fire, and a lot of quiet. That’s what this trip was all about.
And I’ll say it, the worst part of traveling is the traffic and the road construction. Then you get home and have to unpack the vehicle.
The rest of the day was easy. Grab some dinner, kick back, and relax. Thanks for following along with us this week.
