A Slow Tuesday at the Cabin

Katy and I stayed at the cabin all day on Tuesday, and that was the plan. No driving around, no stops to make. Just the lake, the trees and the people we love.

Coffee before everyone else was up

Katy and I started the day the way we like to, with our coffee, while the others were still snuggled in bed. We sat out on the deck, talked and had a good time. Those early quiet mornings together are some of my favorite parts of any trip.

Watching the wildlife

We had plenty of company outside. A deer wandered right up beside the cabin, and out on the lake a whole group of geese was paddling along the far shore. We just sat back, enjoyed the nice breeze and let nature do its thing.

Corilee and Grant up from the lake

Once the sleepyheads were up, my sister Corilee and Grant took a walk down by the water. I caught them heading back up the yard from the lake, and then we got a couple of pictures of the two of them out on the deck with that blue sky behind them.

Just taking it all in

We ended the day the best way, sitting together and just listening. The quiet of the lake, the birds, the breeze in the trees. Nobody needed to say much. We just took it all in. We all had a wonderful time being together, and that is what this trip was really about.

Taking it all in. Turn the sound up and listen to the quiet of the lake.
