One of the best parts of this trip has been our neighbors. Every morning, and again every evening, a small group of white-tailed deer wanders through the yard to greet us. They graze under the pines, nibble the leaves and take their time, like they’ve been expecting us.
This morning came in light, misty and foggy, with a little drizzle on and off. Perfect weather for sitting back with a coffee and watching the visitors. Keep an eye out for the pale one in the group: a light, almost white-coated deer that really stands out against the green grass.

So far this trip has been exactly what we needed: quiet mornings, good company and a front-row seat to the wildlife. We’re not in any hurry.
