Same routine, same Starbucks, two very different mornings. You all know by now that my day doesn’t start until I’ve got my cup of Starbucks coffee in hand. That doesn’t change on vacation, and it doesn’t change with the weather. The only thing that changes is what it looks like on the way in.
Sunday: the soaker
Yesterday was a real downpour. The rain came down hardest around 7 am, temperatures sat in the low 50s, and DuBois picked up over an inch and a half of rain by the end of the day. My photo was taken through a windshield covered in raindrops, and the parking lot was one big puddle.
Monday: dry and cloudy
This morning was a different story. No rain at all, just a solid gray overcast and a mild 56°F when I pulled in, with the high expected in the mid 60s. Dry pavement, the patio umbrellas folded up, and a much easier walk to the door.
A shout-out to the baristas
Two different mornings meant two different baristas behind the counter, and both of them were outstanding. Sunday’s barista and Monday’s barista each had a great attitude, friendly, upbeat and genuinely pleasant to deal with. It takes a special kind of person to get up that early and greet a line of half-awake coffee drinkers with a smile. Thank you both for taking such good care of us early risers. You made both mornings better.
Rain or clouds, the coffee tastes the same, and the service was great both days. ☕
